ENTITY shares five facts about Blue IvyPhoto via Instagram / @blueivy.carter

When it comes to celebrity children, Blue Ivy is definitely one of the most famous. With parents like Beyonce and JAY-Z, there’s no question why the five-year-old is also in the spotlight.

But despite her superstar parents, not much is on the internet about the toddler. However, we here at ENTITY did some digging and found some of the best unknown Blue Ivy facts.

Here are five facts that will make any woman envious they couldn’t grow up as Beyonce’s daughter.

5 The announcement that Beyonce was pregnant with Blue Ivy at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

Beyonce isn’t exactly one for subtlety, so it’s really no surprise that she would choose one of the biggest music industry nights of the year to announce her pregnancy with Blue Ivy. In true Beyonce fashion, she didn’t just get on stage and make the big announcement. Instead, she did so during her performance of “Love on Top.”

Hinting to her surprise at the beginning of the song she said, “I want you to stand on your feet. I want you to feel the love that is growing inside of me.” She then sang her heart out, leading up to the ultimate ending.

Beyonce finished the song and then looked out into the crowd holding and rubbing her stomach, smiling with the ultimate happiness. The cameraman then panned to JAY-Z in the audience who was beaming and being congratulated by Kanye West and Lady Gaga.

4 Blue Ivy is a great big sister to the twins, Rumi and Sir Carter.

Blue Ivy is now five-years-old and no longer the only apple of her powerful parents’ eyes. Since June, Blue Ivy no longer holds just the title of celebrity daughter, she is also a big sister to Beyonce and JAY-Z’s twins, Rumi and Sir Carter.

Blue Ivy is pretty protective of her younger siblings and was involved in their life even before they were born. In addition to her curiosity about Beyonce’s pregnancy and her future siblings, Beyonce also wanted Blue Ivy in the delivery room so she could feel included in the process.

“[Blue is] very proud and excited. She’s a good big sister, she really is. She cares for them a lot,” Tina Knowles, Blue Ivy and the twins’ grandmother, said to Entertainment Tonight.

3 The name Blue Ivy may have been inspired by a novel.

To this day, Beyonce and JAY-Z haven’t given much explanation to the reasoning or inspiration behind the name Blue Ivy. However, the general consensus among fans is that Beyonce provided the answer in a 2012 Tumblr post.

The post featured an excerpt from the novel “A Field Guide to Getting Lost” by Rebecca Solnit. According to Us Weekly, it read:

“The world is blue at its edges and in its depths. This blue is the light that got lost. Light at the blue end of the spectrum does not travel the whole distance from the sun to us. It disperses among the molecules of the air, it scatters in water. Water is colorless, shallow water appears to be the color of whatever lies underneath it, but deep water is full of this scattered light, the purer the water the deeper the blue. The sky is blue for the same reason, but the blue at the horizon, the blue of land that seems to be dissolving into the sky, is a deeper, dreamier, melancholy blue, the blue at the farthest reaches of the places where you see for miles, the blue of distance. This light that does not touch us, does not travel the whole distance, the light that gets lost, gives us the beauty of the world, so much of which is in the color blue.”

2 She was the youngest person to ever appear on the Billboard chart,

Blue Ivy landed a spot on the Billboard chart at just two days old.

Well, sort of.

Technically, her dad landed a spot on the chart for his song “Glory.”

However, Blue Ivy was actually in the track. Or rather, her sounds were. JAY-Z recorded the sounds, coos and cries his newborn daughter made hours after Beyonce was in labor. He immediately hit the studio, put the sounds on a hit track and landed a place on the chart.

While JAY-Z wasn’t the first to do this, Blue Ivy still earns the credit as the youngest person on the chart. Over three decades before, Stevie Wonder used his daughter Aisha’s newborn sounds on the track “Isn’t She Lovely.”

So what’s the difference?

Wonder’s track didn’t hit the Billboard chart until two years after his daughter’s birth. Unlike Blue Ivy, Aisha was also never officially credited with her part in the song. Blue Ivy, on the other hand, is represented as B.I.C. in the credits for “Glory.”

With billionaire parents, it’s pretty reasonable to assume Blue Ivy attends one of the best schools around. Beyonce and JAY-Z even moved to a Los Angeles spot closer to their oldest daughter’s elite private school.

Which school, you may be wondering?

Blue Ivy attends the Center for Early Education. With a toddler in the program, parents pay $20,710 per year. If your child is in K-5, parents pay $29,480 per year and sixth grade students cost parents $31,520 per year, which includes a trip to Washington D.C.

In addition, the deposit for toddlers is $1,500 and $2,000 for children. Additional fees include $125 for the first child, $50 for each additional sibling and a $2,000 entrance fee for new students.

Lucky for the other families with students attending the school, Beyonce did a surprise performance at their annual gala in 2016.
