Carrie Fisher unexpectedly set tongues wagging last month when she revealed in her latest memoir, “The Princess Diarist,” that she and “Star Wars” co-star Harrison Ford had had a three-month affair. The duo famously played love interests Han Solo and Princess Leia in the George Lucas trilogy, later reprising their roles for 2015’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

And speaking on “The Graham Norton” show on Friday, Fisher admitted  that she felt “guilty” for all of the hullabaloo surrounding the news. Norton commented that the revelation had “caused a sensation,” and the actress couldn’t help but agree, admitting, “400,000 news services picked it up and it became a little embarrassing for me.”

She also gave a little glimpse into the current state of her relationship with Ford, noting that despite their brief affair, they were still friends. “I became friends with his second wife then, so we saw each other a lot.” She did admit, however, that Ford refused to speak of the affair, reverting to incoherent mumbling the few times she had ever brought it up.

When Norton subsequently pointed out that Harrison will now be asked to speak of it for the rest of his life, Carrie became embarrassed, admitting, “I never thought of that … Now I feel more guilty!”

Fisher said she hadn’t realized the fling would come over as such a shock, thinking people would have just assumed that it happened. However, the details from old journals certainly drew attention. She wrote that she had been “wine sodden” the first time they had sex, noting that it wasn’t really a great experience for her, though Ford was “really handsome.”

“It was so intense. It was Han and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend,” she told People. Her journals also revealed that she would fantasize about a future with Ford, hoping he would ask her to marry him and give her a “gold band with diamonds (inscribed) Carrison.”
