ENTITY reports one why rape culture is the reason Bachelor in Paradise fans are not supportive of Corinne Olympios after sexual assault

In today’s “How is this real life?” news, people on twitter are more upset about “Bachelor In Paradise” being cancelled than the reason why it was cancelled:  sexual assault.

According to reports, the “Bachelor in Paradise” production was suspended because producers allegedly filmed DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios in a sexual encounter while Corinne was too drunk to give consent. But fans don’t seem to be that upset about producers allowing a sexual assault to occur right in front of them. Instead, Twitter is full of fans victim-blaming and slut-shaming. Even worse, a lot of tweets are coming from women.

Following the suspension, Warner Bros (the company behind the ABC show) released a statement: “We have become aware of allegations of misconduct on the set of Bachelor in Paradise in Mexico. We have suspended production and we are conducting a thorough investigation of these allegations. Once the investigation is complete, we will take appropriate responsive action.”

More specifically, according to various reports, the sexual misconduct occurred in the pool. Sources told the Daily Mail that Corinne’s body literally went limp while DeMario was hooking up with her. One of the crew members on the production team witnessed this event and filed a complaint a day later resulting in a sexual assault investigation.

ABC has not confirmed whether or not the season will be cancelled but people are already heated.

Oh, and as we mentioned people aren’t mad about the alleged sexual assault, they’re mad that ABC might cancel the season.  And mad at Corinne for “causing” it.

As one Twitter user tweeted “The Bachelor in paradise shit better not be true. You can’t take this from me.”

Excuse me, what exactly are they taking away from you that was worse than what Corinne had taken away from her? She allegedly went through a sexual assault and your first instinct is how it is an inconvenience for you? What a joke.

Let’s be clear, slut-shaming Corinne for being sexually assaulted is literally the definition of rape culture. Corinne had no control over what was happening and didn’t even know about the situation until the next day when, according to reports,  fellow cast members told her about it.

Way to go America.
