President-elect Donald Trump took to Twitter on Saturday to demand an apology after the “Hamilton” cast addressed Mike Pence with a powerful message about diversity.
Trump accused the cast of Hamilton for being “very rude” to a “very good man.”
“Our wonderful future V.P. Mike Pence was harassed last night at the theater by the cast of Hamilton, cameras blazing. This should not happen!” Trump exclaimed. “The Theater must always be a safe and special place. The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize!”

“Hamilton” Cast member Brandon Victor Dixon, however, responded to the President-elect’s tweet to thank Pence for listening to the message.
@realDonaldTrump conversation is not harassment sir. And I appreciate @mike_pence for stopping to listen.

During Friday night’s curtain call at the Richard Rodgers Theater in New York, the Broadway cast acknowledged vice president-elect’s presence in the audience. Dixon expressed his concerns, saying, “We, sir, are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir.”

Dixon also thanked Pence for attending a show featuring a “diverse group of men and women of different colors, creeds and orientation.” Mike Pence, however, walked out of the theater before Dixon finished his remarks, according to Associated Press.
And although the President-elect disapproved of the attempt to promote diversity, “Hamilton” creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda expressed his pride on Twitter at how the cast “[led] with love.”
After Pence left, Jeffrey Seller, the show’s lead producer, said he hoped the politician would empathize with the message. “I hope that maybe it inspires him to feel for those not like him,” he said.
