You’ve admired her work to improve children’s health, applauded her elegant gown choices and – like most of America – wondered, “How the heck does she get those killer arms?” The FLOTUS’ inspirational New Hampshire speech about the 2016 presidential election and Donald Trump’s sexist comments is just another reason to love Michelle Obama.

Whether you’re a fan of the Obama administration and plan on voting for Hillary Clinton or you’re on the other side of the political aisle, Michelle’s speech has too many truth bombs (particularly about Donald Trump) to ignore. Some highlights?

  • “It doesn’t matter what party you belong to – democratic, republican, independent – no woman deserves to be treated this way.”
  • “Now is the time for all of us to stand up and say, ‘Enough is enough.’ This has got to stop right now. If all of this is painful to us as grown children, what do you think this is doing to our children? What messages are our little girls hearing about what they should look like and how they should act?”
  • “People who are truly powerful lift others up … and bring others together. We need someone who is a uniting force in this country. Someone who will heal the wounds in this country.”
  • “We need to do what women have always done in this country … we need you to roll up your sleeves and get to work.”

Of course, the video also includes plenty of commentary on Hillary Clinton’s qualifications for presidency. Even if you’re not a Hillary fan, though, don’t miss this speech – it serves as a reminder not only of how far women have come but also how far we have to go.
