‘Jane the Virgin’ Star Gina Rodriguez Reveals Her Alter Ego, ‘Cutz’

When you fall in love with a specific character, it’s hard to separate the actress from that character. For instance, if you’re one of the thousands of viewers who fell in love with the telenovela-style drama “Jane the Virgin” and Jane’s quirky, committed and selfless personality, then you will probably always associate female actress Gina Rodriguez with those characteristics.

Rodriguez, however, shows her fans on “The Tonight Show” that Jane isn’t the only character she has up her sleeve; she also has an alter ego named “Cutz.” This Golden Globe-winning actress tells Jimmy Fallon that she previously used this alias while she was attending college in New York University. Rodriguez tells Fallon, “We would write [raps] foolishly and then when we were at college parties and they were like, ‘Oh, rap!’ [Cutz and Lady Fury] would be like, ‘Oh yeah, right off the dome!’”
