She is the mastermind behind one of the most famous reality TV series, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” Like her or hate her, it’s difficult to deny that Kris Jenner is a marketing genius.

The Kardashian-Jenner matriarch is the driving force behind this notorious family’s rise to fame. She manages all of her children’s careers under her own production company, Jenner Communications.

But who is she, really?

Here are five facts you should know about the self-proclaimed “momager,” Kris Jenner.

1 She has always had money but she never stops hustling.

Long before the Kardashians, Kris Jenner was making moves as an entertainment manager.

Kris is, above all else, a brilliant businesswoman. During the early days of her marriage to Bruce Jenner, the couple had a modest income, with her husband working as a public speaker. However, Kris worked her magic and landed her husband contracts with Coca-Cola and Visa. Her work as his publicist expanded his media exposure tremendously and elevated him during the prime of his athletic career.

Outside of her marriages, she has played a central role in creating the Kardashian brand, which has collectively earned the family over $450 million!

3 She has not had the best luck when it comes to romance.

Kris Jenner married esteemed lawyer Robert Kardashian at the age of 22 and lived comfortably as a housewife for 12 years. They ultimately got divorced when it became apparent that she was having an affair.

However, it did not take long for her to move on. She began dating Bruce (Caitlyn) Jenner before the end of the divorce proceedings. Only one month after the separation was finalized did Bruce and Kris Jenner get married themselves.

Not long after Caitlyn Jenner came out as transgender, the couple filed for divorce in 2016, despite being married for 23 years. Caitlyn opened up to Vanity Fair, saying that she believes the relationship failing had far more to do with her being mistreated by Kris Jenner than her transition. Ouch.

3 She had her own opinions about the O.J, Simpson trial.

The 1995 murder case of Nicole Brown Simpson left a rift in the Kardashian family. Robert Kardashian represented O.J. Simpson as a part of the defense “dream team.” The work of this persuasive group ultimately led to Simpson’s innocent verdict in his wife’s murder trial.

But instead of Kris Jenner supporting her ex-husband, she chose to stand behind her good friend, Nicole Simpson. She wore hand-me-down maternity clothes from the deceased to the trial. In the eyes of many, this came across as a silent protest. Later in life, she gave her daughter, Kendall Jenner, the middle name Nicole to pay homage to a dear friend.

4 Publicity stunts are kind of her thing.

Most of her antics have been executed within the show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” Who could forget the episode where Kris pushes Kim to pose for a photoshoot while wearing nothing but pearls? And what about that time she sent Rob Kardashian to the hospital for spiking his drink with Viagra?

It has always been a dream for Kris Jenner to have her own talk show.

With KUWTK, it seems like she got a more dramatic version of a talk show. On one of the early episodes, she brought out a biracial baby, announcing it as her newly born grandchild. The only problem is that North West was not yet born when this episode aired. Nice try, Kris.

5 The Kardashian/Jenner empire wouldn’t be a reality without her.

After Kim Kardashian’s sex tape with popular rap artist Ray J was leaked in 2007, the reports about the soon-to-be star blew up, and Kris Jenner certainly noticed. Almost immediately after that, she marched into Ryan Seacrest’s office pitching the idea of a reality show.

She had been told by family friends that the Kardashian family was “crazy” and “entertaining.” Kris saw this feedback as an opportunity for the family rather than an embarrassment. And it paid off.

She became the executive producer of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” and she manages all of her children’s shows, brands and endorsement deals. Additionally, she has gone on to write her own cookbook, “In the Kitchen With Kris.”

Kris Jenner’s pushiness and helicopter parenting styles have been highly criticized. However, it is hard to imagine how this family would have reached this level of success without her vision and marketing skills.

Setting personal opinions aside, you can’t deny that Kris Jenner has struck a chord in the entertainment industry. With the help of her children, she has carved an entirely new path to superstardom through reality television. Though she’s not without her faults, Kris Jenner is a brilliant marketing strategist and she’s honestly pretty entertaining, too.

What would we do without you, Kris?
