Growing up in the entertainment world surrounded by actors and actresses (such as her father Eric Roberts and her aunt Julia Roberts), it was in Emma Roberts’ blood to love acting from the beginning.  From playing a charming Nancy Drew at age 16 to the current sorority witch—Chanel—on “Scream Queens,” this female actress has shown she can handle a diverse range of characters.  Here’s why we love her.

1 She loves to read.

A few months ago, she posted a reading list on her Instagram for all who are interested.  And we are!  She’s got classics like “The Social Contract” by Jean-Jacques Rousseau and modern fiction tales like “The Goldfinch.”

In an interview with Teen Vogue the celebrity said that she only auditions for a character or signs on for a role when she finds the script intriguing.

“I’ve never really said, ‘Oh, I want to do a small movie or a big movie.’ To me it’s about the material,” she told TeenVogue. “I love to read, so when I see something that gets me excited, I don’t care if it’s big or small — I want to be a part of it.”

2 She’s got her own style.

Roberts doesn’t just go with the Hollywood flow.  She loves to mix and match trends and patterns by layering and experimenting. One day she could be bookworm casual, ready for a day at a café, and the next she could be rocking a trendy chic grunge getup.  She doesn’t typically dress flashy, but she certainly has her pricey goods that she cherishes, like a glamorous Balenciaga fanny pack.

3 She’s confident.

“Every day I go home and feel very accomplished,” she said via Teen Vogue.  She strives to live every day with no regrets.  She talked about her struggles with girl friends when she was younger and finding the meaning of a loyal friend. She tells the magazine that the drama-ridden, competitive nature of girl-girl relationships is something she’s had to confront many times.

She prefers to ignore the drama and reject any insincerity.  Her confidence shines from the inside as well – she doesn’t wear makeup when she’s not working. In a social-media-filtered world, the inspirational woman is all about encouraging others to just be who they are.
