Entity reports on Luna Lovegood

Luna Lovegood flies under the radar in the “Harry Potter” series, and we’re sick of it.

She exists in her own world, but she is one of the most kind-hearted, relatable and empowered female characters in the series. And we think she deserves more attention.

Here are four reasons we should all raise a glass of Butterbeer to Luna Lovegood.

1 She does what she wants.

Whether it’s reading The Quibbler upside-down or constructing a necklace out of Butterbeer corks, Luna sticks to spending time on the things she actually likes.

2 She believes.

She believes in all of the odd and unbelievable creatures in the “Harry Potter” series.

“You can laugh, but people used to believe there were no such things as the Blibbering Humdinger or the Crumple-Horned Snorkack!”

3 She knows her Quidditch.

Her Quidditch commentary is unparalleled by anyone else at Hogwarts, especially any other girl.

“‘And that’s Smith of Hufflepuff with the Quaffle,’ said a dreamy voice, echoing over the grounds. ‘He did the commentary last time, of course, and Ginny Weasley flew into him, I think probably on purpose – it looked like it. Smith was being quite rude about Gryffindor, I expect he regrets that now he’s playing them – oh, look, he’s lost the Quaffle, Ginny took it from him, I do like her, she’s very nice…’”

Not only does she sum up the game, but she keeps us all interested with her Luna-esque whimsy and humor.

4 She’s the epitome of a Ravenclaw.

To all of our friends who title themselves Ravenclaws, Luna Lovegood is your goal. She is everything you hope to see in a Ravenclaw. She’s intelligent – she may seem like just the quirky oddball, but she knows what’s up. Remember when she fixed Harry’s glasses?

She’s witty and hilarious, and no one can claim she isn’t creative. Just look at her iconic, radish earrings. And need we mention her originality, individuality or acceptance? Luna is the definition of a great Ravenclaw — and she’s obviously one of our favorites.

“Wit beyond measure is man’s greatest treasure,” said Luna in a sing-song voice.

Luna is an original. She’s smart, funny, compassionate and doesn’t let other people’s judgments stop her from doing her thing. Who wouldn’t want a Luna Lovegood in their life?

She is a better version of all our very artsy, hipster friends, and you know it.
