“Modern Family” actress Sarah Hyland is blowing up the Internet with her impressive singing voice.
She took to the mic and teamed up with Boyce Avenue to hit some serious high notes while taking on the Halsey part in her cover of “Closer” by The Chainsmokers.
While Boyce Avenue are known for their covers, this is a new departure for the TV star.
But maybe we shouldn’t be surprised by the quality of her vocals for a look back at her earlier career shows she’s done much more than her most famous sitcom role as Haley Dunphy.
The actress started off as a Broadway baby as young Jackie O. in “Grey Gardens.” Her stage musical experience ranges from the littlest orphan in 1999’s “Annie” to her 2014 performance as Chrissy in Hollywood Bowl’s “Hair” revival.

The trending video moves her off the Broadway stage and T.V. screen to a new place on top of the pop scene. Boyce Avenue took to Instagram to share the news and praise their partner’s musical talent.
The Chainsmokers even gave the cover a shout-out on Twitter to which Hyland responded, “WHAT?! SUPER DOPE! Thanks guys!”
Hey @Sarah_Hyland and @boyceavenue you sound awesome! So cool y’all did that

With this cover, Hyland may be following the trend of Disney stars “trading their sitcom scripts for microphones,” according to Billboard. Watch the full performance in the video above courtesy of Boyce Avenue. Let’s hope we hear more of Hyland’s voice soon – debut album, anyone?
