‘Scandal’ Season 6 Is Back With a Bang (Literally) in Explosive Trailer (VIDEO)

ABC’s Shondaland-dominated TGIT (Thank God It’s Thursday) is returning; Gladiators stand your ground as you watch the Season 6 trailer for “Scandal.”

In the jam-packed clip, we see Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) burying her head in Fitz’s (Tony Goldwyn) chest and Huck (Guillermo Diaz) running away from a cabin explosion in the woods. And somewhere in between, Liv is shouting at Fitz, running through a hospital and arguing with Mellie (Bellamy Young) who screams, “I am done running for president.” Liv snaps back, “Well I’m not!”

The trailer picks up right where Season 5 left off with the announcement of presidential nominees Mellie Grant and Frankie Vargas (Ricardo Chavira). But will Mellie throw in the towel? It looks like The Fixer isn’t planning on letting that happen.

After missing the fall Shondaland lineup to accommodate Kerry Washington’s second pregnancy, the hotly anticipated new season returns on January 19th. ABC promises, “In just the first 10 minutes alone, you’re not going to know what hit you.”
