Within these next months, the nation is not only electing a new president, it is also saying goodbye to President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama and the love the soulmates share. So, to commemorate what Essence calls “the end of an era,” entertainment personality Stephen Colbert invites First Lady Michelle Obama to speak with him on The Late Show.

In this interview, our First Lady shares her “bittersweet” feelings about leaving the White House, the staff and the memories. She also talks about the Essence photo that, as Colbert says, “burned the internet to the ground.” This photo features Mr. and Mrs. Obama holding hands as they face one another. But as romantic as that elegant photo looks, Michelle Obama reveals that she was actually scolding the President at the time for being too impatient with the photographers.

Will you miss the Obamas? Watch the video as Michelle Obama shares her fondest memories, her friendship with Beyoncé and her feelings about her “swagalicious” husband.
