Forget Santa, Christmas carols and the perfect gift – the biggest thing on everybody’s mind as the holiday rolls around is weight gain. And the women of “The View” are no different.

“I got ass for days!” Co-host Whoopi Goldberg gushed, as they discussed the annoying trend. And fellow panelist Jedidiah Bila was no comfort as she tried to assure Goldberg that big booties were in style right now.

“My whole life’s been the age of the age of the booty … I had the booty before Kim [Kardashian] had the booty,” Goldberg joked, admitting that she had even tried to get “one cheek smaller” to show she had lost some weight.

“But I just decided, this is what it is,” she added. And while her fellow co-hosts couldn’t help but burst into laughter, Goldberg is not wrong about the slow descent into weight gain that is brought on by the holidays.

New research from Cornell University’s Food and Brand Lab concluded that for participants in the United States, weight began to rise throughout October and November and peaked 10 days after Christmas.

They found that participants’ weight increased by about 1.3 pounds during the Christmas-New Year’s season. Furthermore, the study concluded that it can takes months for people to get that weight off. Half of the participants’ newly acquired weight wasn’t lost until after Easter, about five months later.

Joy Behar, calling herself a “problem solver,” had a solution for pal Goldberg, “You can lipo one cheek.” A shocked Sara Haines did not approve of Behar’s suggestion, gushing, “Are  you really jumping straight to that?” before adding her own solution. “You could also try running a little,” Haines advised.
