There were many “Zoo,” (CBS) season 2 cliffhangers. These cliffhangers weren’t nearly on the same level as “Zoo” season 1’s last moment, but all the same, the end of “Zoo’s” last season has been rattling in our heads for a whole year.

How in the hell is Mitch alive when we saw him get knocked unconscious before blood splattered everywhere? Another moment that left us on the edge of our seats belonged to the Hybrid attacks. Last time we saw the hybrids, they were safely tucked away in Pangaea, an isolated island.

However, the biggest suspenseful question that we got in last season’s finale strictly belonged to Jackson’s aardvark joke. What did the aardvark say to the taxi driver?! We’ve researched high and low for the possible answers and stumbled upon a gold mine of great ideas.

1 “Head to Paark Avenue and Step on It!” (cmkeller via boards.straightdope.com)

This joke makes a play on the way aardvark spells and sounds by comparing it to “park.” Eh? Eh? That’s pretty clever, right?

Okay, it doesn’t have much going for it, but it’s better than anything we could possibly come up with. Don’t worry, the punchlines get better from here.

2 “No Need for a Map. I Nose the Way.” ( Aspidistra via boards.straightdope.com)

This joke makes a play on the aardvark’s physical traits and how it moves around for shelter and food. Aardvarks generally use their long, hypersensitive noses to move around. This joke does the same that the first joke did in terms of making a play on a common word and shifting it around a bit.

3 “Take Me to the Anthill and Step on It!” (Eschereal via boards.straightdope.com)

This one is probably the best on the list, because it not only spins a commonly used phrase in television when someone gets into a taxi, but also makes “the Anthill” sound like a bar or something.

Did you also catch the second part of the joke? Well, probably — but we’re going to say it anyway. They said anthill and followed that with “step on it.” Ha! Get it? Step on the… okay, you get it.

4 “Take Me to My Ants’ Place.” (Alley Dweller via boards.straightdope.com)

This pun has the same “wow” factor as the first joke. However, we can’t completely shoot it down. It does make a funny comparison between the insect “ant” and the way “aunt” can be pronounced. It won’t cause any spi ttakes or anything but it is clever.

5 “It’s aardvark, but the pay’s pretty good.” ( Hogarth via boards.straightdope.com)

Speaking of spit takes, another user on the Straight Dope forum said this joke almost made him “choke on his Coke.” We have to admit, it took way longer to understand what this joke meant than should be socially acceptable.

But when we finally understood that “aardvark” sounds like “hard work,” in a Russian accent sort of way, it does make us laugh out loud. Just imagine the image of that whole scene.

These are the top 5 answers we saw regarding this cliffhanger question. What do you all think the aardvark said to the taxi driver? It’s not fair we never got to hear this one, but we had to sit through the cow/astronaut pun.

Who knows. Maybe when we see Jackson again, he’ll tell the joke to someone else to get a laugh. The “Zoo” season 3 release date has been set to June 29th, 2017. The rescue mission for Mitch begins!
