Entity interviews Sandro Monetti about why Jon Stewart is awesome.Screenshot via CBS This Morning

You watched “The Daily Show” because of Jon Stewart’s wit and dry-humored satire, but of course, you’re also secretly into him. Just take a look at the flashing white smile, the twinkling eyes and the perfectly manicured haircut. A debonair scholar, Jon Stewart only got better over his 16 year tenure on “The Daily Show.”

“Jon Stewart’s gift is the ability to make you think as much as he makes you laugh,” CNN contributor Sandro Monetti told ENTITY. “His comedy and commentary are both so intelligent and that smart wit has made him one of the best political satirists of all time.”

“His comedy has doubled as a call to action with Stewart always urging his audience to stand up to bullsh-t wherever they smell it,” Monetti continued.

Besides his ability to make us laugh while we learn, here are four other reasons we love Jon Stewart.

1 He’s self-made.

Starting as a dorky soccer kid at College of William and Mary, Stewart has journeyed from bartender to puppeteer to soccer coach to busboy to finally a distinguished and respected satirist.

Before making his break on “The Daily Show,” Stewart appeared on multiple TV shows in the ’90s, including “The Larry Sanders Show, “Jon Stewart: Unleavened” and “The Late Late Show with Tom Synder.” These appearances allowed him to cement his comedic style that would become a staple of the political commentary business.

With Jon Stewart on board, “The Daily Show” won multiple Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Program.

2 He keeps himself busy.

In addition to his career as late night host, Stewart had dipped his feet into the worlds of acting, directing and writing. In 1999 he had a role in Adam Sandler film “Big Daddy” and in 2006 loaned his voice to animated film “Doogal.” He also directed political drama “Rosewater” in 2014.

Besides acting and directing, Stewart has also written several books. His first was a collection of essays titled “Naked Pictures of Famous People” and has since released “America (The Book): A Citizen’s Guide to Democracy Inaction” in 2004 and “Earth (The Book): A Visitor’s Guide to the Human Race”  in 2010.

Even though he’s not on “The Daily Show” anymore, he still stays busy in show business. He recently signed with HBO to work on making short-form digital content for HBO Go, the company’s website. And of course, he spends his time being an amazing father to his two kids who are 10 and 11 years old.

3 He’s got moves.

Just look at him go!

4 He’s a humanitarian.

Stewart bought a farm in New Jersey, but it wasn’t for a post-retirement vacation home. With his wife, he works with Farm Sanctuary – an animal protection organization – to provide a safe haven for abused farm animals on their plot of land.

In addition, on the last show of the “Daily Show” he raised over $2.2 million for the New York Collaborates for Autism. And since 2013, Stewart and his wife have secured their farm, Bufflehead Farm, as a sanctuary for cows, pigs, goats, chickens and other furry or feathered creatures.

5 He works that gray hair.

Yeah, he might not have that bountiful dark brown hair that marked his youthful charm during  the show’s early years, but the guy is a silver fox.
