It’s 7:30 a.m. Your alarm is blaring and your considering hitting snooze for the fourth time this morning. Somehow, you find the willpower to drag yourself out of bed and get ready for the day.

But as you open your makeup bag, you realize you’re on the last drops of your foundation, your mascara is dry and your brushes are shedding worse than your cat. The very thought of the inevitable Sephora trip sends a shudder down your spine as you think of the hit your bank account is about to take.

Don’t stress out! ENTITY has beauty hacks for school, work or just an everyday look that will not only let you hit that snooze button but will also give you the most bang for your buck in the makeup aisle.

Here are five hacks every makeup-lover should know.

1 Skip foundation and conceal only where you need to.

Foundation is great, but it can also take forever and a day to apply. The best beauty hack for flawless skin is to find a good skincare regimen and stick to it. Then, instead of using foundation as a mask, grab your favorite concealer and apply only where needed.

Usually, this means under the eyes and in the center areas of the face. Basically, anywhere that could use a little brightening, but remember, everyone is different, so test out a few different ways. This method not only saves time, but also product as you’re not using excess foundation or concealer in areas that don’t necessarily need coverage. Let that natural beauty shine through!

2 Use your cheek products as eyeshadow.

I am a firm believer in the multipurpose product, so out of all the beauty hacks, this one might be nearest and dearest to my heart. If it has been specifically intended for one purpose, you best believe I will be trying to use it for another.

I’ve enjoyed the most success with this method when it comes to highlighters and blush. Popping some highlighter on your eyelids has the same effect as using a shimmery shadow — and no need to drop the extra cash on an entirely different product! Dusky pink colors are also great colors to naturally make the eyes pop. Use some of your favorite blush for subtle definition.

My favorite is the Glossier Cloud Paint in the shade Dusk. This cream blush is incredibly pigmented and only requires the tiniest drop to create definition, meaning you use less product and save more money!

3 Ditch your brushes, use your fingers instead.

Look, your fingers are nature’s makeup brushes. I know, I know — everybody and their mother raves about their beauty blender, but do your fingers cost $20? Say goodbye to those unnecessary and expensive foundation brushes. Plus, with products like concealer using your fingers can actually help warm up the product and help it blend easier.

4 Your lipstick makes a beautiful blush.

Using lipstick as a blush will change your life. Not only does this method save time, but it also saves a ton of money.

Ever find yourself wishing that you owned more shades of blush? Little did you realize there’s a whole new array of colors sitting in your makeup bag. Gone are the days of scrolling longingly through Sephora or MAC’s website at all of the blush shades you wish you could own. This beauty hack brings life to your skin without breaking the bank. Not to mention, it provides the perfect cohesive look with your cheeks and lips. Just lightly dot a bit of your favorite satin or matte-finish lipstick onto your cheeks and blend with your fingers (shoutout to hack #3).

5 Keep it simple with bold lips and mascara.

Never underestimate the power of a statement lip.

Throwing on a bright pink or a dark red shade of lipstick with no other makeup on your face may seem like you’re skipping a few crucial steps, but a simple swipe of color can wake your face up. If you’re looking for a lip that’s long-wearing, try a color from ColourPop. A cruelty-free brand with lipsticks that cost as little as $5.50, ColourPop is affordable and boasts a ton of different shades.

Pairing some lip color with a few coats of your favorite mascaras makes you look instantly put together. This is one of the best beauty hacks for school or work or for anyone else who wants to look like they put in effort without actually putting in, you know, effort.
