She's just as badass off-screen as she is on-screen.

Regardless of which role you associate with her, we can assure you there is so much more to Kate Mara than just being an actress.

Her character Zoe Barnes may be gone, but she’s not forgotten.
Kate Mara played Barnes, a young journalist who wrote for the “Washington Herald,” for the show. Her character was best known for being ambitious, yet naive.
Mara held the role for two seasons, until her character was killed off on the show by being pushed in front of an oncoming train. Despite dying in season two, however, Mara stepped back into the role during season four to play Barnes again. This time, she was part of another character’s hallucination.
Kate Mara’s net worth is $10 million. The 34-year-old actress started acting at age nine and she’s built most of her fame and fortune from her roles on TV and film.
But even if she wasn’t a celebrity, the actress would probably still be pretty well off since her family is pretty much NFL royalty. Her family owned the New York Giants and the Pittsburg Steelers. So, the great seats she’s getting at those games probably aren’t putting a dent in her net worth.
“House of Cards” wasn’t this leading lady’s first rodeo. Kate Mara also played Shari Rothenberg on “24” and she played Susan Storm in “Fantastic Four.”
And who could forget her chilling role as Hayden McClaine on “American Horror Story: Murder House?”
Kate Mara maintains a common theme in interviews: She deeply values her privacy and tries to keep her personal life out of the public eye.
According to her IMDb page, Mara has said, “All the actors I respect – especially old-Hollywood actors – the reason I think so many of them have had long careers is that there is a sort of mystery about them. You don’t know what they do on Friday nights when they go home from work. You have no clue. You have this sort of fantasy about them.”
One thing about her personal life that Kate Mara doesn’t keep private is her advocacy for animals. On her Instagram page, she has a cute picture with dogs. But her love doesn’t stop there.
She also urges her fans to sign a petition prompting the United States Department of Agriculture to restore animal welfare records.
Kate Mara played some of our favorite characters on-screen. And she seems like a pretty good person in her personal life too. We definitely think protecting animals is a good cause to get behind, Kate!
