Because they are the reasons we'll miss this show!
Who’s going to miss the “Pretty Little Liars” cast as much as we are?
Tonight our favorite show will come to an end after seven years of reigning supreme over teen drama television. Wow, has time flown. It feels like just yesterday the girls got their first text.

What will we do without Lucy Hale’s fashion sense? I know Hanna’s earring choices had to have been inspired by Ashley Benson’s own accessory choices. You don’t just stumble upon earring game like that. Now we’re at the series finale and we don’t know what to do with ourselves.
The girls have has no issue moving on to great things. Troian Bellisario has followed Shay Mitchell’s wanderlust footsteps by traveling the world. She’s even started directing her own films. And Shay, on the other hand, is making her own entrance into the movie industry with films like “Mother’s Day.” And as for Ashley and Sasha Pieterse, they’ve been living their best lives with their husbands and families.
I knew they couldn’t act for “Pretty Little Liars” forever, but… could someone maybe make that a thing? So us fans can at least have more time to learn to live our lives without the Liars. And it sucks because we also won’t get any more behind the scenes Snapchats or photoshoots anymore.
This might probably be the biggest knife to the heart since the “Pretty Little Liars” cast was just as fun together as the girls in the show. However, instead of curling up on the bed with a pint of ice-cream and our zipper-less sweats until the finale comes on, let’s go down memory lane.
We all know about the girls’ real families; we’ve come to love them as much as Liars. Maggie Hale, Lucy Hale’s sister is a newly-wedded sweetheart. Keegan Allen comes from an acting family as his dad was also a big stage, film and television actor. And “Pretty Little Liars” gave Ian Harding’s character, Ezra, a profession in writing, just like his renown father Stephen Harding.
However, what’s even better than their real families is their cast family. The cast has grown older together. Seven freakin’ years of life has passed them by, while they’ve been holed on set day and night.
They’ve created bonds together that many can’t create in a lifetime, and the great part is this chemistry shines on the screen whenever they interact with one another. It’s a huge reason why their relationships on-screen are so believable. They’re the same as their relationships off screen.
Because they are so close to one another, the BTS photos never fail to make us smile.
And we’d argue that the best BTS photos are amongst the girls and their boyfriends. I’m sure burying dead bodies and the many hours of sex scene footage bonded them. Spoby and Haleb are just as hilarious and cute off-screen as they are on-screen. Also, when the girls are bored and ready for the set to finish, their videos and jokes towards one another bring hilarity to the most depressing of days.
The most iconic friendship that came from Pretty Little Liars has to be ButtahBenzo. Shay and Ashley two clearly have bonded the most in the cast because they’re basically attached at the hip when they’re anywhere near each other.
I think it’s because their personalities tend to be the most similar out of the cast. Both are goofy and laugh at just about anything. They are both always up for anything and they love to travel. You can’t scroll down their respective Instagram and Twitter pages for too long without seeing an iconic selfie or video of the two together.
Speaking of personalities, the “Pretty Little Liars” cast is just as interesting in-character as they are out of it. Spencer and Troian are the most similar to one another. Troian has the same hunger for knowledge and the arts as Spencer does.
Ian (Ezra) is also someone who is similar to his character. They both pretty much think they know it all. This aspect of his character was introduced to us when Troian called him out on the fact that he was bragging about his knowledge on evolution, but it turned out that he misunderstood a basic fact about it. And, of course, Troian had to set him straight.
Shay Mitchell, on the other hand, is probably the most different from her character. Shay definitely has an extroverted personality. She’s not timid like Emily tends to be. And Keegan Allen also seems to act more differently than Toby in his everyday life. Toby is a very hands-on guy who has an affinity for building things and working in the field to save people from danger. Keegan, however, is about as artsy as Troian. He has an eye for photography and loves theater as well.
Their interviews are an extension of their personalities and it’s how we learn a lot about what goes on behind the scenes beyond their BTS photos. None of the cast members have ever shied away from doing interviews for their fans, which makes us love them more.
They’ve always been open and honest about their interactions and their relationships with one another. They have no problem teasing each other about silly things that happen behind the scenes. And the best thing about their interviews is that they always drop “A” hints for us to dissect.
The “Pretty Little Liars” cast’s interactions with fans have always been amazing. They’ve always stopped to take selfies with us and sign our various body parts and pictures.
The best thing about the Comic-Con events, though, is the fact that we get a platform to talk to them personally. Interviews are usually just one-way and we can’t exactly poke their brains on social media. However, there’s nothing like having the stage to tell one of the Liars how much we love them or throw out some theories about who will be their newest stalker in the coming seasons.
Each cast member has a career and life beyond the show that makes them worth following. Ian has written a book or two since he’s been on the show. Then there’s Troian who loves to direct and act in films with intense plots and deep-rooted messages.
Ashley recently made her move into the movie industry and she has thrived in her new platform. Keegan, as stated earlier, is a photographer with a keen eye for details. And Lucy is a big-time country singer who’s come out with an amazing album a couple of years ago.
Their careers beyond acting are the most exciting things about them, because it means we get to continue to enjoy the “Pretty Little Liars” cast on the big stage long after the show ends.
Although we’ll miss the drama of Rosewood, we can still follow our favorite cast members. So, the show’s end isn’t all about tissues and slow, sad songs.
Let’s mourn the end of an era, but celebrate the start of new beginnings! The cast is, in a way, more interesting than the characters they play. We can’t wait to see what their futures hold.
