Entity has compiled some of the strangest hair gadgets on the market.

As women, we have countless rituals, hair products and gadgets in the latest beauty trends. Our shelves are stocked with creams, masks, eyeshadows, lipsticks. There’s a reason the beauty industry is worth $38 million. Though most products are of good quality, there are a few gadgets that will have you scratching your head in confusion. Here are some of our favorites.

1 Conditioning Heat Caps

This is for women sporting curly hair. Conditioning heating caps are meant to evenly distribute heat throughout your scalp so that your hair can absorb conditioner. YouTuber Shameless Maya recommends keeping the cap on for an hour. The key is to use this product when no one’s home – after all, it works wonders for curly, frizzy hair but it looks like a giant plastic helmet.

2 Air Curler

This gadget attaches to your blow dryer. With its spinning technology, it twirls a section of your hair in the barrel. Once it releases your hair, you are left with smooth ringlet curls. Sounds too good to be true? Some reviews claim the product does not work all the time.

3 Big Happie Hair

This product was out years before “Jersey Shore” brought back the big hair look. The Bumpit is an attachment positioned on the crown of your head under a layer of hair. This gadget gives your hair a volumized look.

4 Flowbee

The Flowbee was popular back in the ’90s and is still sold today. This hair cutting gadget for men attaches to your vacuum cleaner and sucks up strands into the tiny blades for a precise cut. Though its overt popularity has fallen throughout the years (presumably because of the design), the Flowbee is a useful tool that men and women still use.

5 Instant Bangs

This hair product is a step down from a wig. Rather than having to purchase an entire wig, you can buy instant bangs, which is a headband that gives the illusion of bangs. Some versions of this product are similar to those tried by YouTuber Grav3yardgirl.
