Pass the popcorn, please.
When you’re stressed or feeling down, nothing can pick you up quite like a hilarious movie — particularly when it’s chock full of funny one-liners.
Classic movies such as “Airplane,” “Sex and the City” and “The Devil Wears Prada” never go out of style or fail to make us laugh. They’re full of funny movie quotes, and we hope you laugh as much as we do.
Here are some of our favorite funny movie quotes.
Rumack: “You’d better tell the Captain we’ve got to land as soon as we can. This woman has to be gotten to a hospital.”
Elaine Dickinson: “A hospital? What is it?”
Rumack: “It’s a big building with patients, but that’s not important right now.”
This quote is just as annoying as it is funny. It’s pretty dumb, which only makes it funnier. We are sure those of you who have seen Airplane will agree.
Ted Striker: “Mayday! Mayday!”
Steve McCroskey: “What the heck is that?”
Johnny: “Why, that’s the Russian New Year. We can have a parade and serve hot hors d’oeuvres…”
Again, dumb but hilarious.
A classic TV show that also tried to go the way of the movie. Some say it was successful, some say it wasn’t. But whatever your beliefs may be, these movies definitely do deliver some funny quotes about life.
Carrie Bradshaw: “New York Magazine says Brooklyn is the new Manhattan.”
Miranda Hobbes: “Yes, but whoever wrote that lives in Brooklyn.”
Anyone who lives in New York City will know this to be true. Except maybe Williamsburg. But Manhattan will always be Manhattan and Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha will never forget that. Nor will they let Miranda forget it even when she moves to Brooklyn.
Not exactly a quote, but when Charlotte poops her pants in Mexico we always crack up. And feel bad for her. But mostly just laugh.
Miranda Priestly: “By all means move at a glacial pace. You know how that thrills me.”
This quote is extremely relatable to all of us. Slow walkers on the street? No thanks! Miranda Priestly knows what’s up. And the best part is, she lets everyone know what she’s thinking.
Ah, a classic. This whole movie is full of famous funny movie quotes, but here are a few of our all-time favorites.
Napoleon: “I see you’re drinking one percent, is that cause you think you’re fat? ‘Cause you’re not. You could be drinking whole if you wanted to.”
Well said, Napoleon. That’s one way to go about flirting with the girl you’re in love with. However, to this day we still wonder, was his real name Napoleon Dynamite? We aren’t sure if that’s cool or just plain weird.
Napoleon: “I don’t even have any skills.”
Pedro: “What do you mean?”
Napoleon: “You know, like nunchuck skills, bow hunting skills, computer hacking skills. Girls only like guys who have great skills.”
Truer words were never spoken. Ladies, we can all admit that we would never go for a guy who wasn’t a pro bow hunter. Right? Like, that is the biggest turn on ever. Right on, Napoleon. You know what’s up.
Sure, the joke you tell at every party might be getting a tad old. As in people immediately walk away from you when you start to tell it for the fiftieth time. But these famous funny movie quotes never go out of style. At least not yet.
