Ariel Winter is an American actress known for her role as Alex Dunphy on “Modern Family.”

But with co-stars like Sofia Vergara and Sarah Hyland, actress Ariel Winter doesn’t really get the attention she deserves. And it’s probably because she was only eleven years old when she got the part.

There are a ton of things to know about her, but ENTITY narrowed it down to these six things.

1 How did Ariel Winter get into acting?

Ariel Winter has been in the spotlight since she was a little girl. She began her career in commercials and was only four years old when she landed her first entertainment industry job for a Cool Whip commercial in 2002.

After her commercial stage, she moved on to bigger projects.

Ariel is no stranger to animated children’s shows and movies. In the past, she’s been a voice on the “Phineas and Ferb” series, and now, she voices the main character in “Sofia the First” on Disney Jr. She’s also voiced characters for DreamWorks Animation film “Mr. Peabody and Sherman” and Disney’s “Bambi II.”

But, her career didn’t really start picking up wasn’t until she got the role of Alex Dunphy on “Modern Family.” Since then, Ariel Winter and her “Modern Family” co-stars have won four Screen Actors Guild awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

That’s a lot of accomplishments to put on your resume for someone so young.

2 Just how young is she? She’s only 19 years old.

Ariel Winter recently celebrated her birthday on January 28th. But who would’ve known she’s only a teenager? “The Modern Family” actress doesn’t look like the average 19-year-old.

And that doesn’t faze her. In fact, Ariel Winter’s Instagram is filled with risqué pics showing off her curves.

Other than the fact Ariel has a gorgeous body for a 19-year-old, she is also very mature for her age and plans to make it big – whether it’s in acting or in law school.

Ariel told E! News, “You gotta have something else you can do. I’ve always been interested in law so I think it’ll definitely be something that [I’d] love to do and also go to school for.”

And Ariel is doing just that. She announced on Instagram that she will be attending UCLA in the Fall of 2017.

3 She got a breast reduction.

Ariel has been open about her struggles with her breasts, and in 2015 she got breast reduction surgery.

In an essay for Motto she explained the physical pain she was in and how getting the surgery changed her life.

“It’s really difficult to be such a small girl and have so much weight on your chest. You physically hurt,” Ariel wrote. “You can’t find clothes that fit right. I couldn’t find a cute bathing suit. Everything looked like I was trying to be ‘sexy.’ It didn’t help that I didn’t look like any of my friends my age.”

Ariel seems more body positive since her breast reduction and we couldn’t be any happier for her!

4 Ariel is legally emancipated from her mother.

At 14 years old, Ariel moved out from her mother’s house and moved in with her 36-year-old sister.

According to court records, Ariel sought a restraining order from her mother and said she experienced physical, verbal and emotional abuse while with her.

As a result, Ariel was fully emancipated at 17 years old and tweeted the news by saying, “I am now officially emancipated!!! I’m really lucky I have an amazing support system and lovely people in my life who have given me the support and guidance to have been given this wonderful opportunity,”

After she was emancipated, Ariel appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to talk about taking control of her life.

Ariel told Ellen, “It has been very sad for me, but at the same time it’s been much better for me emotionally and physically to be on my own and have a better, safer household and support system.”

5 She’s an advocate for body positivity.

There’s no doubt Ariel is confident about her body.

After her breast reduction surgery she said, “I know because I’m honest about my insecurities that people think I’m 100 percent positive about my body all the time, but I’m not. I get really uncomfortable, too. But I just remind myself that this is the body I was given. This is who I am.”

Ariel has been shamed in the past for proudly showing off her surgical scars at the SAG awards.

She quickly snapped back at the online haters by tweeting, “Guys there is a reason I didn’t make an effort to cover up my scars! They are part of me and I’m not ashamed of them at all.”

Ariel has also posed topless for Self to showcase her surgical scars. And we have to say the untouched black-and-white photographs are stunning.

She told Self, “It was hard for me in the beginning to deal with people’s comments and deal with everybody having an opinion on absolutely everything I did. But as I got older, I started to realize that as long as I’m positive in my life and as long as I feel good about my decisions and stick to how I feel and the things I want to do. That’s what’s most important. And that’s what’s going to get me through in life.”

She believes women shouldn’t be restricted to post photos of themselves where they feel confident. And we completely agree.

6 She’s a singer.

Many don’t know this about Ariel, but she’s got some pipes.

She actually started a band with her best friend called Wicked Sweet. They released an album in 2010 and posted a Taylor Swift cover of “I Knew You Were Trouble.”

Ariel says one day she wishes to collaborate with Taylor Swift and other musical artists. We definitely can’t wait to see that.

But until then, we’ll just keep cheering you on in your acting and body-positive ventures, Ariel!
