Ashley Graham is GORGEOUS.
There is NO denying that. She is 100 percent herself and here at ENTITY we’re all for it. If you’ve never heard who Ashley Graham is, well, today is your lucky day.
Get ready because five facts to know about Ashley Graham are coming your way.
Ashely was born in October of 1987. In addition, she was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and attended school there. She attended Scott Middle School and Lincoln Southwest High School.
She was discovered when she was 12 at the Oak View Mall in Omaha by the I & I agency.
In 2003, Ashley signed with Ford models.
However, in 2014 when Ford closed down their Plus Division she stopped being represented by them. Currently she’s signed with IMG models.
She has been on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, Sport’s Illustrated and Elle. She made history as the first plus-sized model to be in an ad for Sport’s Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2015. Then, a year later she was on the cover.
This year she became the first plus-sized model to be on the covers of British and American Vogue.
Ashley Graham first came into the spotlight when she was in a 2010 Lane Bryant commercial.
The commercial received a lot of backlash. Ashley said that the situation was sad because if it was Victoria’s Secret models no one would have had a problem with it. Later, the commercial was pulled from running on FOX and ABC.
Sorry, ladies and gentlemen, but Ashely is a married woman.
She has been married to husband Justin since 2010. Justin does some work in cinematography. Although they are married they live on different coasts because Justin works in Los Angeles and Ashley works in New York. Ashley did say though that they don’t go more than two weeks without seeing each other.
When Ashley first brought home Justin, she hoped that her family would be ‘color-blind’, but that didn’t happen. But, after some time and a phone call from Justin to her grandmother, things changed. Now, they’re happily married.
In May of this year Ashley released her first book.
She wrote a memoir titled, “A New model: What Confidence, Beauty, And Power Really Look Like.”
In her memoir she shares personal essays followed with photos. She shares how the conversation of body positivity is changing and how she didn’t let a number stop her from following her dreams.
Ashley encourages people all around the world to be themselves.
It doesn’t matter what size your boobs are or how flat your stomach is. She reminds us that size is just a number, and that we as a society have to look past the numbers.
