Yes, I can be a beauty guru if I don't wear makeup - and you can too!
Makeup has been around for years. Seven thousand years to be exact. Ancient Egyptians perfected the cat eye long before the cat eye was even a thing. But, there are many of us out here who don’t wear makeup or are wearing makeup for the first time.
Personally, I have nothing against makeup or those who wear it. I actually love makeup! In fact, the only reason I don’t wear it is because I don’t know how to apply it correctly.
Luckily, I got a few tips from the makeup gurus of Youtube, and now, I can review POPSUGAR‘s collection, Beauty by POPSUGAR. Well, not the entire collection. In honor of taking baby steps, I’ve decided to try their fairidescent, crystal liquid lip, Be Cosmic, and their dual Thick + Thin Mascara in black.
Although I’m always bare-faced, I swear by wearing lip gloss. I am a “Gloss-a-holic.” This particular gloss added a minty shine to my lips. When I say my lips were shining, they were shining!
What do you get when you mix green tea extract, hibiscus flower extract, and blueberry extract? A gloss packed with antioxidants, and vitamins A and C. Because of these all-natural ingredients, Be Cosmic protects skin cells, fights daily free radicals and signs of aging while helping to firm skin.
I rate this gloss a 10/10, and I would definitely recommend it. The applicator slides the product on effortlessly, leaving a mesmerizing, sparkling iridescent finish on the lips. It also gets some extra points for having a delicious peppermint scent in the formula.
I must admit, I love POPSUGAR’s Thick+Thin Mascara. I really loved the formula. The mascara lasted for a really long time (basically all day). And guess what? No smudges or clumps! I found that while using the product, the thin wand is perfect for your bottom lashes.
What was especially impressive is what happened when I took a dip in the hot tub. I was told that in humidity, mascara melts and leaves smudges or a couple of little flecks under the eye. I didn’t put my head underwater, but I still figured that the steam from the hot tub would surely do something to the mascara. However, even with the steam, this mascara did not budge.
Both products deserve so much more than two thumbs up, I couldn’t stop looking in the mirror.
Anyway, this concludes my makeup review. Whether you are a devout makeup fanatic or wearing makeup for the first time, I hope this helps you for the next time you stop at your local Ulta Beauty.
