After weeks of impatient anticipation, fans are buzzing  over the new “Beauty and the Beast” trailer.

The live-action film, based on the animated 1991 film, stars “Harry Potter”‘s Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast and Luke Evans as Gaston.

When Belle’s father is taken captive by the horned, fanged and hairy Beast, Belle must take his place in the castle. She soon befriends the castle’s staff, which includes a candelabra, clock, wardrobe and teapot, who advises Belle that the Beast “is not as terrible as he appears.”

Taking Mrs. Pott’s advice to heart, Belle grows to appreciate the goodness in the Beast’s heart, especially after he rescues her from a pack of ferocious wolves.

However, an angry mob seeking to kill the Beast soon gets in the way of their romance. Gaston, played by Luke Evans, leads the group to the Beast’s castle, hoping to slay him and claim Belle for himself.

“Beauty and the Beast” is one of many live-action Disney movies set to release in the upcoming years. With past films like “The Jungle Book” reaching over $138 million the first weekend of its release, live-action remakes have certainly captured the attentions of their modern audiences.

This film boasts music by Alan Menken and original songs by Menken and Tim Rice and is set to release on March 17, 2017.
