This year, Emma Watson returns to her sorcery roots, but this time she’s not playing the witch. Today fans can get a glimpse of the magical female actress as her newest on-screen persona: Belle in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.”

Nearly three decades after the original release, Disney decided to film a live-action rendition of the animated classic and the “Harry Potter” icon was cast as Belle. Disney teased us in their first official trailer, shown above, only offering an obscured rose-blocked shot of Watson’s face. Still photos of the film released today show Watson in her character’s infamous yellow gown dancing with the Beast. They also give us a sneak peek at her expansive home library that modern-day bookworms will drool over.

Watson has well earned her title as a powerful role model and an inspirational woman. After years in the spotlight, she took a break from Hollywood to earn her degree from Brown University. Watson is also a dedicated advocate for women’s rights, serving as the UN Goodwill Ambassador and spokeswoman for the HeForShe campaign. She elegantly juggles this responsibility with her acting and modeling jobs, including her leading role in last year’s film “Colonia” and her 2009 modeling partnership with Burberry.

Although the excitement about the film is blowing up on social media, eager fans of Watson and Disney alike will have to wait until March 2017 to see the cinematic beauty (and the Beast).
