She's making her own name in the business.
Elizabeth Olsen is the 28-year-old younger sister of celebrity twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley.
Though her sisters are very recognized in the entertainment industry, the young actress has made it a priority to succeed in the business without the help of her family name. She even went by a different name in high school to separate herself from her famous sisters.
The three sisters have only attended a few events together and haven’t been photographed on the red carpet together since 2011.
No one had even heard of Elizabeth before her debut in Sundance film, “Silent House.” Here are five things you may not have known about Mary-Kate and Ashley‘s baby sister.

The actress says that she spends her vacation time in Nicaragua refurbishing schools and improving their latrine systems. Three years ago, she booked a trip to Nicaragua for a yoga retreat which ended up getting cancelled.
She decided to still go and met The Latitude Project founders, Jenn and Alanna. She ended up joining them in repairing desks and updating an impoverished local school’s athletic equipment.
This past fall, she went on her second trip visiting a new community in Nicaragua to help distribute solar light to the area. She also played with the community children, and she plans to go back next year.
Recycle Across America is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering solutions that stimulate environmental awareness. RAA is focused on making recycling and composting more simple and prevalent in the U.S. It is about delivering simple solutions that can have a greater impact on society.
Elizabeth Olson and Maggie Q teamed up to release a limited edition collection of Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, which benefits Recycle Across America. Their environmental partnership with Kiehl’s became a success after raising a significant amount of money for the organization.
Elizabeth received ballet and singing lessons and began acting at a very young age, making appearances in a few of her older sisters’ Dualstar Entertainment films.
At 17-years-old, Olsen moved to the Big Apple to study acting at the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. She then spent a semester studying in Russia at the Moscow Art Theatre School.
By the time she graduated, she had appeared in notable films such as, “Silent House,” “Martha Marcy May Marlene” and “Peace.” She also appeared in the film “Very Good Girls” with her close friend, Dakota Fanning.
The Elizabeth Olsen Instagram account is filled with gorgeous photos of the beauty in elegant dresses at many red carpet events. She wore this sparkly pink number to the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.
The young actress says that NYC has been her home for years, which is a great thing since she considers herself a theatre kid and New York is the center of theatre. But when it comes time to unwind, Los Angeles is where you’ll find her.
Elizabeth Olsen has definitely made a name for herself without help from her sisters, and we greatly admire that. We also love that she helps aid underdeveloped communities, spreading her light and love to the rest of the world.
