Gigi Hadid is under fire for her impression of future FLOTUS, Melania Trump.

As part of her opening act for the American Music Awards, the 21-year-old model mocked Mrs. Trump’s Slovenian accent while also poking fun at her “plagiarized” RNC speech.

“This is my Melania Trump impression. I have to get the face right,” Hadid said as she pursed her lips. “I love my husband, President Barack Obama and our children, Sasha and Malia.”

Although the AMA audience was laughing, Twitter users had some mixed reactions. While some people praised her for her faux  accent, others rebuked the performance as “classless.” A couple of users also accused Hadid of being “racist” and told her she should “stick to modeling.”

Another user pointed out the hypocrisy in the situation, pointing out that Gigi Hadid has talked about “anti bullying.” In a previous interview with People, Hadid urged her fans to be kinder not only to her, but to each other. “Talk about things that inspire [you] over the things that bring others down,” she said.

One Twitter user blasted, “Melania Trump is going to be the First Lady of the USA! This was the highest form of disrespect possible!”

However, the reactions weren’t all bad. Various celebrities were impressed and pleased by Hadid and her model sister Bella also added her support.

But as Twitter explodes with mixed rage and praise towards Gigi Hadid, they are praising Selena Gomez, who won Favorite Female Pop/Rock Artist, for her emotional speech.

And for those of you who missed the show Sunday night, you also missed Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj’s racy duet of “Side to Side” and John Legend’s emotional performance of “Love Me Now.”

But it appears many people did miss the awards as the show drew only 8.16 million viewers to ABC, a big drop from the 11 million who watched the AMA’s last year.
