Justin Bieber’s latest bizarre behavior – thumping a fan in Barcelona – has sparked fears he might be heading for a Kanye West style breakdown.
The 22-year-old pop star was caught on video punching a fan who reached into The Biebs’ car in a bid to touch him. This fresh incident comes on the heels of a string of other recent controversies that include deleting his Instagram account, saying he won’t take photos with fans anymore and storming off mid-concert.
But while many Kanye fans seem fed up with their idol’s on stage rants and cancelled concerts that preceded his entry to hospital earlier this week, the Beliebers still appear mostly supportive of their man.
The hashtag #RespectJustin has been buzzing ever since the Barcelona video emerged, with many taking to Twitter to take his side and empathize with the “Purpose” singer.
Respect @justinbieber‘s privacy and he will automatically respect you.. ? #RespectJustin

You can’t do anything you want to him just “because he is famous” #RespectJustin

Kanye’s fans, on the other hand, are not so forgiving.

Kanye West is a perfect example of how fame & wealth can corrupt your basic moral values. 2004 Kanye wouldn’t even recognize 2016 Kanye.

I mean, I can’t be that surprised or disappointed. This is the authentic Kanye West experience after all. #saintpablo #canceled #refund

He is getting plenty of hate from fans of Beyoncé after his recent on stage that this year’s MTV Video Music Awards were rigged in her favor.
@kanyewest @Golden1Center How dare u claim #TaylorSwift OR #Beyonce owe you ANYTHING. Strong independent women survive…with or without Ye

After canceling the rest of his San Pablo tour, Kanye was admitted for medical care, an act which has evoked further hilarious commentary on Facebook, such as this one from England.
Perhaps after taking some time for himself – like Kanye is doing – Justin Bieber will be just fine.
He is certainly aware of stepping over the line of acceptable behavior having posted (then deleted) this message on Twitter last month. “There’s going to be times where I say the wrong thing, because I’m human. But I don’t pretend to be perfect and I hope to God that, you know, I don’t say the right thing all the time because if that was the case then I’d be a robot, and I’m just, I’m not a robot.”
