Kanye West has given the first speech of his 2020 presidential campaign.
He went on a 40-minute political rant about the state of the nation during his concert in San Jose Thursday night during which he shared that he “would have voted for Trump” if he had voted.
That remark drew a mixture of boos and stunned silence from his audience in pro-Democrat California. One fan even threw a shoe on stage, which West promptly autographed and tossed back.
Kanye also reiterated his plan to run for the presidency in 2020. Announcing that campaign at the MTV video awards in 2015, he famously said, “It’s not about me. It’s about ideas. New ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth.”

But given that a reality TV star with no previous political experience just won his way to the White House, other celebrities might now be temped to join the race and take on Kanye in 2020. Here are ENTITY’s suggestions for a few stars who might beat Kanye to the finish line.
Actor Clooney was an avid supporter of Hillary Clinton during her campaign. He told Larry King in 2016, “I’m a liberal. I’m confused when that became a bad word … the liberal movement morally, you know, has stood on the right side of an awful lot of issues.”

The widely-loved TV host endorsed Hillary Clinton in 2016 but maybe she is the woman to break the glass ceiling at the White House instead. Although she told Jimmy Kimmel she “will never run for president,” Oprah jokes that she’s “feeling really qualified” after witnessing Trump’s success.
The much beloved “Sully” actor also supported Hillary Clinton but showed his diplomacy when he said on This Morning (via DailyCaller), “Look, America’s gonna be fine. We’re the greatest, most resilient nation in the history of civilization. We’ll be fine. We’ve worked ourselves out of holes many, many times over and over again.”
TV show host Ellen DeGeneres had Hillary Clinton and the Obamas on her show multiple times during the election season. While prompting “Finding Dory,” she said Trump was a “bully” and that she was “not anti-Republican” only “pro human being.”
Johnson, recently named Sexiest Man Alive by People, is a Republican who has been seriously considering entering politics. He told People, “I started to really think. Could I make a difference? Could I surround myself with really brilliant people to help me make decisions? Do I care about this country. And when the answers continued to come up yes, then I thought, there’s a good chance.”
