“You Can’t Always Get What You Want” for the holidays, but Kristen Stewart fans have received a perfect gift – the actress starring in The Rolling Stones’ latest music video.

“Ride ‘Em On Down” is a track from the veteran band’s first new studio album in 11 years, all-covers release “Blue and Lonesome.”

This Stones-Stewart video for the song is effortlessly indie chic, touting Americana vibes and a laid-back attitude as an alternative ode of sorts to blues artist and original musician Eddie Taylor.

In the video, Stewart – clad in a cut-off tee and high-waisted Levi’s – takes an abandoned L.A. by storm in a bright blue ’65 Mustang. The sound of the rock band blares from the hot rod’s speakers and serves as a soundtrack for Stewart’s solo adventures which include dancing seductively and getting pulled over by a cop.

While the Rolling Stones have kept up their rock star cred for more than 50 years, Stewart has begun to change up her brand. Recently, her acting choices have been drifting from her mainstream “Twilight” roots by handpicking more serious roles.

Many of these new acting endeavors are a blast from the past such as in the 1957 Jack Kerouac tribute “On The Road” and the most recent Woody Allen film, “Café Society,” set in 1930’s Hollywood.

So why exactly did the Rolling Stones pick her to represent their iconic brand? Maybe because of her performance in “The Runways” where she has previously channeled her inner rock star as Joan Jett. More likely, however, would be the empowered independence she alludes on-screen.

This empowered shift is paralleled off-screen in her paparazzi-filled personal life. After her heavily scrutinized relationships with actor Robert Pattinson and director Rupert Sanders, Stewart, 26, publicly shared her relationships with women including ex-girlfriend Alicia Cargile and current love interest St. Vincent.

She confirmed she feels liberated by her new image in the public eye without the need to label herself or her sexuality. Though she is open about her female relationships, she has not come out as gay or bisexual. “Me not defining it right now is the whole basis of what I’m about. If you don’t get it, I don’t have time for you,” Stewart told Variety.

From impressive flicks like “Café Society” and “Certain Women” to her advocacy for the LGBTQ community, there are many reasons to celebrate Stewart this year.  This cool music video provides another one. While the festive release may be stripped of any mistletoe or seasonal frills, it delivers female empowerment and that’s something which is high on ENTITY’s holiday wishlist.
