ENTITY reports on Meryl Streep Movies.

At this point Meryl Streep should be given a crown and named The Queen of Movies.

She has been in over 43 movies and has won countless awards for her films. In fact, she’s won over 40 awards from various awards shows.

She’s been an icon in the entertainment industry for years now, and we don’t see that stopping anytime soon. So here are ENTITY’s top picks of Meryl Streep movies to watch at your next movie night or sleepover.

1 “The Devil Wears Prada”

ENTITY reports on Meryl Streep Movies.

“Is there some reason that my coffee isn’t here? Has she died or something?”

We could literally make a whole article of why we love “The Devil Wears Prada.” It is one of Meryl’s greatest roles in our opinion. She plays, Miranda Priestly, editor-in-chief of Runway Magazine

She’s sassy, demanding, and just outright mean sometimes. But at the end of the day it’s because of what she’s been through that she is the way she is.

The quote above is a perfect description of Streep’s character in the movie. She pushes Andy (played by Anne Hathaway) to be her best self, even if she is working her ass off. If she hasn’t died, she should be working.

With elements of high fashion, witty one-liners and a gay best friend, “The Devil Wears Prada” is a must-see for any girls’ night.

2 “Mamma Mia”

ENTITY reports on Meryl Streep Movies.

“Sophie: I don’t care if you slept with hundreds of men. You’re my mom, and I love you so much.

Donna:  Oh, Soph! And I haven’t slept with *hundreds* of men.”

With a “Mamma Mia” sequel set to come out next year, we couldn’t not include this one on the list. “On a small Greek island, Sophie dreams of a perfect wedding — one which includes her father giving her away. The problem? Sophie doesn’t know who he is!” reports StageAgent.

Meryl plays Donna, Sophie’s mother in the movie. What we love about Donna is that she’s a strong, independent woman who don’t need no man.

But truly, she fixes things around the house, takes care of herself and doesn’t care about how she comes off to others, as apparent by the quote. She’s also still in touch with her best friends from when she was a young adult, which we absolutely love.

3 “Julie & Julia”

ENTITY reports on Meryl Streep Movies.

“If no one’s in the kitchen, who’s to see?”

Not only does this movie have Meryl, but it also revolves around cooking, which gives us the best of both worlds. The movie follows Julie Powell, an aspiring writer whose husband suggests she write a blog about cooking during her leisure time. She ends up committing herself to spending the next 365 days cooking recipes written by the famed Julia Child in her cookbook.

Meryl plays Julia Child and her impression is spot on. We love this quote from the movie because it brings us major Julia Child vibes, and Meryl delivers the quote perfectly.

And if the movie inspires your inner Julia Child to come out, then try making a recipe with some of these natural, energy-boosting foods!

4 “The Iron Lady”

ENTITY reports on Meryl Streep Movies.

Watch your thoughts, for they become words. Watch your words, for they become actions. Watch your actions, for they become habits. Watch your habits, for they become your character. And watch your character, for it becomes your destiny. What we think, we become. My father always said that. And I think I am fine.”

The “Iron Lady” explores the life of Britain’s first female Prime Minister, known as the Iron Lady. Um, a feminist, #womenthatdoes — we’re on board already!

You get to see the beginning of Margaret Thatcher’s life, as a shopkeeper’s daughter, on through her time as a famous female politician.

What we love about the quote from this movie is that it’s so true and so applicable. It’s a great quote to follow when live gets tough or we need a little inspiration. We love that Meryl is embodying a strong woman that did, and firmly believe in what Margaret Thatcher/ Meryl Streep said.

5 “It’s Complicated”

ENTITY reports on Meryl Streep Movies.

This is a great Meryl movie because we get to see more of her comedic side than we usually do.

“When brought together at a family event, two exes find themselves oddly attracted to each other after ten years of divorce. Although the couple think that this affair will stay in a different state, it brings itself back to their own city and disrupts their personal lives,” reports IMDB.

What we love about this quote from the movie (seen in the GIF above) is that she’s embracing herself as a woman, and it shows off Meryl’s comedic side, which we absolutely love. It’s a hilarious line, because she’s just trying to keep up with the times, which is something we can all relate to.

6 “Fantastic Mr. Fox”

ENTITY reports on Meryl Streep Movies.

“If what I think is happening, IS happening… It better not be.”

One thing we love about this movie is that Meryl is doing a voiceover, something we don’t see her do all that much. In this movie she plays Mrs. Fox, a supportive wife who holds down the fort while her husband poaches chickens.

That’s another reason we love the quote above – it totally embodies the character she’s playing.

“It is a tale of crossing the line of family responsibilities and midnight adventure and the friendships and awakenings of this country life that is inhabited by Fantastic Mr. Fox and his friends,” writes IMDB.

Mr. Fox has become a father, yet is having a hard time abandoning his mischievous ways. The movie follows his journey through trying to navigate his passion for fatherhood and being true to himself. Additionally, the animals are so cute, which is always a plus!

7 “A Series of Unfortunate Events”

ENTITY reports on Meryl Streep Movies.

The black plague! Is it the black plague?”

This a major throwback, but with the Netflix version coming out earlier this year, it was another one we couldn’t not include. Although Meryl plays a smaller role in this movie, she still stands out because she’s Meryl. She plays Aunt Josephine, the quirky aunt the children visit who is absolutely afraid of everything and is obsessed with grammar.

What we love about this quote is that it is a spot-on example of Aunt Josephine. She’s scared of anything and everything, and thinks that the whole world will implode in any second. And it’s kind of hilarious. No, it is hilarious watching this women scramble in fear of things that happened thousands of years ago.

Ultimately, there are a ton of other Meryl movies you can watch if you don’t like this selection. She’s been in 43 movies — there’s going to be something that intrigues you, to be quite honest.
