Scarlett Johansson is best known as a popular Hollywood actress. She was recently on the big screen in the 2017 film “Ghost in the Shell” and many know her as Black Widow from the 2012 “Avengers” flick.  However, this celebrity is much more dynamic than just the roles she plays in the movies.

From her Danish heritage to a wild story about her doppelganger, you’re going to want to hear more about this star.

ENTITY compiled a list of the five things you need to know about Scarlett Johansson.

5 Scarlett Johansson was born in Manhattan but she also has Danish citizenship.

Scarlett Johansson was born in Manhattan, New York City on Nov. 22, 1984, making her 32 years old.

“I think living in New York keeps you pretty grounded. I’m not particularly fancy,” she said to Esquire in 2013.

Her father is originally from Copenhagen, Denmark and her mom hails from the Bronx.

Naturally, the actress also has Danish citizenship. Like her dad, her grandfather came from Denmark and her great-grandfather was born in Sweden. In 2016, she told Scandinavian Traveler that she visited Copenhagen and the Legoland there and said she had fun walking around the city.

When it came to growing up in a Danish household, she told the magazine, “My parents always used Danish as a secret language, so we kids wouldn’t understand what they were talking about.”

4 She also has a twin brother.

However, the more interesting aspect of her family is the fact that she has a twin. Her brother Hunter Johansson is also an actor and worked on former President Obama’s campaign in 2008.

The twins also have four other siblings: Vanessa Johansson, Adrian Johansson, Christian Johansson and Fenan Sloan.

3 In addition to her actual twin, Scarlett Johansson found her 72-year-old doppelganger.

When Scarlett Johansson heard there was a grandma who looked exactly like her when she was younger, she did what any rational person would do.

Scar-Jo tracked her down and got drunk with her.

It all started when Reddit user denverjoel posted a picture of his grandma Geraldine as a young woman because of her uncanny resemblance to the actress. The post instantly went viral, which is what caught Scarlett Johansson’s attention.

In June 2017, she told Stephen Colbert, “She came last night to the Rough Night premiere and we did get kind of trashed. [Geraldine] is so nice. She was great. Can she party! She’s a lush.”

2 This is no Kylie Jenner because Scarlett Johansson isn’t on Instagram.

In past interviews, Johansson said she had no interest in sharing her everyday life with fans. Which makes sense, considering the actress can’t be found on social media.

Numerous fan accounts exist, but don’t expect this celebrity to be posting any selfies anytime soon.

1 But, she’s most famous for being an acclaimed actress.

Before anything else, Scarlett Johansson is easily recognized as a great actress.

She got her start by auditioning for commercials as a child. Her first real role was at the young age of nine years old in the 1994 movie “North.” From there, she starred in “Manny & Lo,” which her twin brother also played a supporting role in.

Her breakout role is considered to be the 2001 movie “Ghost World,” which didn’t do great at the box office but was great for showing off her acting ability.

But when it comes to her fame, “Lost in Translation” put her in the Hollywood spotlight in 2003. She went on to star in movies like the 2007 “Nanny Diaries,” 2012 “Avengers,” 2014 “Lucy” and 2017 “Ghost in the Shell.” However, these only scratch the surface of the over 50 movies she was featured in.

Scarlett Johansson is also an award-winning actress. The celebrity has a Tony and MTV under her belt, among others.
