Entity shares three movies we want remade with our dream cast.

We’ve seen some pretty wonderful and some pretty tragic movie remakes in recent years. When you fall in love with a classic film, your excitement is likely overwhelming at the announcement that its being remade. Yet sometimes they don’t pan out as well as you had thought and it’s easy to give up hope.

However, there are a few bright lights in the darkness of remakes. FOX’s “Grease Live” received positive reviews with Julianne Hough and Vanessa Hudgens totally slaying their iconic roles. Could we replicate the success of “Grease Live”?

ENTITY examined some classic flicks and added some contemporary cast members to satisfy every dedicated fan. With the right guidance, we guarantee that the following five films would stun as remakes.

Listen up Netflix – here are five films we want revamped and streamed, pronto.

1 Mary Poppins

Although it’s a huge task, a slightly modernized “Mary Poppins” would be magical in every shape and form. Julie Andrews and Dick van Dyke really rocked the 1964 original, but it would be fun to add some interesting 21st century elements to the film.

Zooey Deschanel, with her wide eyes and scratchy voice could play Ms. Poppins while Lin-Manuel Mirada would bring a fun rap aspect to the clever chimney sweep. There are so many interesting modern twists that writers could bring to this classic film.

2 Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Who could do Audrey Hepburn justice? While a tricky task, Natalie Portman may be the perfect fit. Her recent role of Jacqueline Kennedy in “Jackie” has the talented actress looking equally elegant and powerful in her 1960s attire. Plus, Portman’s dancing training for “Black Swan” would come in handy to exude the grace Hepburn likely derived from her ballerina days.

3 Singin’ in the Rain

Did you know that Usher did a 2007 rendition Don Lockwood of Gene Kelly’s classic scene in “Singin’ in the Rain”?  He recorded a music video for a CBS special Movies Rock, where they used the same sound stage as the original release. Why not turn this scene into a full film? The video proves Usher’s smooth voice translates beautifully to film. Let’s not forget his dancing skills, too.

4 Happy Gilmore

Golf is slowly but surely clawing its way back into America’s hearts after Tiger Woods shredded the integrity of the game into a million pieces. A great way to seal the deal would be to bring back the hilarious story of Mr. Gilmore, originally played by Adam Sandler.

Throw Will Ferrell in as the lead and surround him with the top golfers of today and you have a hit. With Kevin Hart and Chris Rock in the announcing booth together, the big screen is guaranteed comedy gold.

5 Honey I Shrunk The Kids

Mike Myers would bring just the right amount of quirky and smart to the role as the father and scientist, which was originally played by the fantastic Rick Moranis. Adding new cool faces to this old classic and using more modern enemies (like maybe a Roomba vacuum cleaner or people playing Pokemon Go) would create endless possibilities for laughter.
