Another summer is finally here, and that means new summer styles! Here are the top five hottest 2019 fashion trends you can expect to see this summer. From animal print to florals, you don’t want to miss out on adding these items to your summer wardrobe.
From snake, to leopard, to cow print— we’ve seen it all. Animal print made a huge appearance in this year’s trends. You may have noticed that leopard print is the most common print seen on today’s biggest fashion moguls. Leopard skirts are paired perfectly with natural colors such as camel or white. But if your personality is more bold, then you’ll love the idea of pairing leopard print with bright colors such as purple and/or orange to add a trendy twist. If you like to step out of your comfort zone and want to elevate your style a little further, you can even go so far as to pair leopard skirts with some florals.
If you aren’t a floral fan, well then I have bad news for you. Floral is back in style and it isn’t going anywhere for a while. Now we’re seeing a new/slightly different take on floral print. Most of us are used to the soft, pink and spring tone colors when it comes to florals, but this year we are introducing darker contrasting colors with bright accents. Florals now often have black backdrops with accents of purple and orange and even bright blue, pink and yellow. With this trend, you might even be able to incorporate these dresses into your fall wardrobe, just switch out your heels for some booties.
Out with the old and in with the new, one shoulder tops. Yes! Who doesn’t love a good cold shoulder cami? Okay, but let’s get something clear: One shoulder sleeveless tops are not the same as off the shoulder tops —those were definitely so three years ago. As the weather gets warmer (in Southern California at least), you may find yourself trying to find new ways to show some skin, even if it’s just a shoulder. The great thing about this trend is that you can definitely incorporate these tops to your everyday look. Throw on some jeans, shorts or even a skirt and you are ready to conquer the day in a chic and trendy look.
This new fashion trend has been seen all over runways and on the latest street style fashion. You may be asking, “what is a boiler suit?” Boiler suits are kind of like jumpsuits or coveralls but more loose-fitting and definitely very flattering. Ladies, find one with a belt to snatch your waist; this item will become your new go-to. Just like a dress, these suits are made to take the hard work out of getting dressed. You can pair a boiler suit with heels or tennis shoes and you will have a cute, comfortable and easy outfit for this summer.
Goodbye oversized totes and hello tiny bags. It’s time to get rid of that large tote bag that you use to carry books, your laptop and everything else that makes your bag ten times heavier. This year, we don’t care about the shape of the bag, we care about the size. Chances are you won’t be able to fit anything other than a lipstick and maybe your phone— but at least it’s cute, right? Many of these tiny bags are also seen through belt bags; a.k.a. the more stylish and sophisticated version of a fanny pack. Both are guaranteed to elevate your look this summer.
Just because something is trending, it doesn’t mean you have to pretend you like it and change your entire wardrobe. The best part of your trend is incorporating new styles to your original style! So, if you’re not ready to incorporate cheetah print into your style, maybe try going out of your comfort zone and picking up a tiny bag. You never know, these new trends, as outrageous as some of them seem, may surprise you.
