ENTITY reports that that Camila Cabello leaves Fifth Harmony.

Camila Cabello will no longer be harmonizing with her former girl group.

After four and a half years of singing with Fifth Harmony, Cabello has decided to pursue solo ventures.

Despite the disappointment of some fans, the group posted a statement on Twitter to reassure Harmonizers that Ally Brook, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui will be continuing even without Cabello.

“You Harmonizers have been there with us since the beginning, you’ve supported us, you’ve rejoiced and cried with us, you’ve grown with us and with your love and support, we will continue on,” the group said. “We are four strong, committed women who will continue with Fifth Harmony as well as our solo endeavors.”

And while it may come as a shock for some Fifth Harmony fans, Cabello has previously ventured into creating solo music. She collaborated with “Treat You Better” singer Shawn Mendes to create hit song “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” And earlier this year she worked with rapper Machine Gun Kelly to write the song “Bad Things.”

As Camila pursues a solo career, she joins the list of other artists who broke away from their groups.

Artists such as Justin Timberlake from *NSYNC and Beyoncé from Destiny’s Child have experienced great success since becoming solo artists.

Timberlake, for example, has received multiple awards, including nine Grammy Awards, four Emmy Awards and 11 MTV Video Music Awards. His debut solo album, “Justified,” produced some of his biggest songs like “Rock Your Body” and “Cry Me a River” and won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album.

Similarly, Beyoncé’s solo career propelled her to the top of the charts. This year she landed nine Grammy nominations, taking her career total to a record-breaking 62 nominations. She made her debut with “Dangerously in Love” and has since become one of the music industry’s top-selling artists.

And just last year, Zayn Malik from One Direction announced his exit from the boy band. He has since released his album “Mind of Mine,” which shot straight up the top of the Billboard 200 charts during its debut week.

While these artists are showing that pursuing a solo career may help artists reach bigger fame, Billboard also points out that Cabello’s exit comes at a disappointing time for Fifth Harmony.

“It’s not just that she left the girl group,” Billboard wrote. “It’s that she left as they were on the cusp of something even greater.” Although the girl group had a large fan base before 2016, it wasn’t until this year that Fifth Harmony “achieved mainstream durability that had eluded them since their formation.”

The group’s new song “Work From Home” climbed to No. 4 on the Hot 100 chart and Fifth Harmony’s second album “7/27” helped launch the group’s first international tour.

Nevertheless, so far Camila’s solo ventures have seen success. For example, “Bad Things” with MGK claimed the No. 10 on the Hot 100 chart. And according to her, she plans to give her fans a “big chunk of [her] heart.”

“I have always encouraged you to be fearless, to live your life in the name of love and to do what makes you happy,” she wrote on a Twitter post explaining her departure. “As scary as it is to take the leap, I am excited and full of joy because I know that no matter what happens, I am following my heart.”

Likewise, Fifth Harmony – which is now a quartet – still seems excited about the what’s to come. “We are excited for our future and we can’t wait for what the new year brings,” the group also wrote on Twitter. “Harmonizers, we are in this together. We love with you with all of our hearts.”
