Recently, I tested out three products from Beauty by PopSugar: the “Stay Put Eye Liner” in the color Don’t Back Down, the “Be Sweet Tinted Lip Balm” in the color Daydreamer, and the “Be Cosmic Crystal Liquid Lip” in the color Fairidescent. Here’s a breakdown of what I thought.

First Impressions: The Packaging

For each of the beauty products’ packaging, there’s a really pretty blue-purple watercolor flower against a white background. The look of it gives off a very simple, clean and soft aesthetic. The materials used for the actual containers feel a bit low in quality, but they seem sturdy enough that they won’t break if dropped. The packaging also has some cute little inspirational messages on it, like “BE EPIC” or “DON’T QUIT.” I thought this was a nice addition.

The Outward Appearance of the Beauty Products:

The pencil eyeliner I tried was almost a granite color, like a medium grey with light reflecting sparkles. I liked this color, but personally I go for either blacks or browns when choosing an eyeliner. Grey was an interesting option.

The lip balm was a nice mauve/berry color, which I really liked. It wasn’t too dark but it still had a significant amount of color to it. This product also had some sparkle, which I personally am not a fan of, but it wasn’t so “in your face” so to say.

The lip gloss on the outside looked like quite the showstopper. It almost looked like the color of a unicorn (if a unicorn were liquified). It’s holographic, which you don’t often see in a lip gloss, so it would definitely stand out on a shelf.

Testing Out The Products: How They Looked, Felt, And Wore

The pencil eyeliner went on very nicely. It was a thin, creamy type of pencil eyeliner that I really liked because of how easy it was to control and drag across my lid. Once it was on my eyes, I didn’t really feel it, so that’s a plus. Some eyeliners feel a bit drying or irritating. The color was exactly what I thought it would be: almost like a sparkly granite. One fair warning however: you will NOT be able to wipe this off without makeup remover or at least some water. This is good and bad.

The lip balm was my personal fave of these beauty products, because it checked a lot of boxes. It didn’t look too sparkly, it had buildable color (something that I always look for in a lip balm), and it felt quite moisturizing yet non-sticky. The only thing I did not like about this product was the smell. It didn’t have much of one, so I think giving it a scent could have been a plus.

The lip gloss was a really nice surprise for me. I am personally not a lip gloss girl because I find it sticky and goopy. Not to mention, my hair always gets stuck in it. However, this lip gloss was not sticky whatsoever. And, it smelled like mint. It had nice moisture that actually stayed for a good part of the day. The color was pretty, and the holographic essence remained even after application. I just wish it had some sort of lip plumper in its formula.

Afterthoughts:

I really liked these three products by PopSugar Beauty. The eyeliner was easy to put on, lasted throughout the day, and didn’t smudge. The lip balm was buildable and had a nice color. And the lip gloss was unique and non-sticky. Not only did they serve as nice additions to my makeup collection, but these products are all natural and cruelty-free. So I felt good, looked good, and did good by owning them. You really can’t lose.
