Noah Cyrus has released her debut single – and it’s making us cry with happiness.

Reactions have been wildly positive to “Make Me (Cry)” with critics praising the mature sound of Miley’s 16-year-old sister.

Music bible Billboard calls it “a step away from the typical bubbly pop song most singers launch their careers with.”

Noah seems to be following in the melodic footsteps of her more famous sibling – much like Beyonce’s little sister Solange has done. But while Solange’s latest album strays from Beyonce’s distinct style, some listeners are comparing the sound of Noah Cyrus to Miley’s younger voice.

Noah’s vocals – paired with UK R&B singer songwriter Labrinth – offer a soothing, yet catchy, melody of troubled romance.

Music and lyrics are a great outlet for expressing and understanding her feelings, she told PAPER Magazine earlier this year, saying, “Writing is the best way to get your mind clear. It’s also a great way to explain your past or what you hope for the future.”
