Being a plant mom is a fun alternative to having kids or pets. Research shows that taking care of indoor plants is great for your mental health. In this 2015 study from the National Library of Medicine, researchers found that participants felt more comfortable and soothed after their interactions with indoor plants.

Scientists have also identified a bacteria in soil that increases serotonin, the happy and anti-stress neurotransmitter. Not to mention, altogether, the very act of taking care of a plant is a positive way to manage the stress of the daily grind.

As an ambitious woman trying to do great things, you’re probably all for any small hacks to increase your productivity and creativity. It turns out, indoor plants are helpful in these areas too!

Find it hard to believe that the presence of greenery can help you get more work done? The study found evidence to suggest that adding plants to an office space positively impacted workers’ performance. People who are plant moms love how it enhances their personal spaces, especially their homes. As a matter of fact, according to this survey from Article half of the respondents said they decided to add plants to their space because it complimented their overall aesthetic and decor. Instagrammer and Plant Influencer Andreina Fuenteabla shares with The Spruce, “Plants can add so much character to a room. They liven up a space and there are so many different varieties of plants. The possibilities are endless.”

There’s no doubt about it, adding live plants beautifies your space with the additional benefit of raising the level of freshness and purity in your environment.

Learn and master a new hobby

Hobbies – you know those things you do outside of work for fun? – are a great way to add more happiness to your life. Getting into hobbies rather than, say, scrolling on social media, will benefit you in the long run (but no shame in getting your scroll on from time to time).

Maybe consider how becoming a plant mom as a hobby can give you a sense of purpose that browsing social media cannot. No matter how you choose to show it, it may make it easier for you to find others who are also about that plant life and will totally get your plant mom memes.
