Before 2016 comes to a close, ENTITY takes a look at five female celebrities taking the philanthropy route this holiday season.

1 Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift stopped by a 96-year-old fan’s home after he shared his admiration of the star in a local TV interview. The pop star surprised the family and joined in on the festivities, offering selfies and hugs galore. She also performed an acoustic set at the party.

Not only did her act of kindness bring joy into the hearts of the family and Swifters everywhere, it may inspire millennials to respect seniors and give thanks to those who came before, both during the holidays and after the snow melts away.

4 Shania Twain

Shania Twain may be busy with her 2017 comeback album but she’s not letting that stand in her way of giving back. The country-pop singer put down her microphone to lend a hand during the holidays.

Twain has contributed to “The Christmas Project,” a cause that aims to bring some holiday cheer to youth suffering from the aftermath of the Bahama hurricanes. Play Light Love has partnered with the S.H.A.R.E. organization for the initiative. Her $2,000 donation supports the efforts and has helped the initiative’s GoFundMe page almost reach their $8,000 goal.

5 Jenna Dewan-Tatum

ENTITY recognizes Jenna Dewan Tatum as a celebrity who gave back during the 2016 holiday.

Actress and dancer Jenna Dewan-Tatum joined forces with St. Jude’s Children Research hospital to raise awareness about how the organization is combating childhood illness. The cause is also supported by other female celebrities Jennifer Aniston and Sofia Vergara. As a mother of a 3-year-old girl, the Thanks and Giving Campaign is close to Dewan-Tatum’s heart.

“I can’t imagine a more peaceful feeling than walking into a hospital like this with your child you love more than anything in the entire world who is sick and then going ‘Don’t worry about it. You don’t need to know about paying for this,'” Jenna Dewan-Tatum said in a E! News video.
