Entity discusses how to have it all together

Let me guess: you have about four plus friends who seem to have literally every aspect of their lives together.

They have apartments, incredible style, and even more incredible boyfriends.

You’ve never seen them without their hair and makeup done.

Their sense of style is unbeatable, all their social platforms are some of the most aesthetic collages known to mankind, and they’re too nice for you to hate them.

They just have it all together.

Also, you may or may not have had the following sentiment:

Why don’t I have my life together like them?

First of all, assuming you’re a young adult female (or even if you’re an adult male, for that matter), no one really ever has it together.

Everyone, literally everyone you have ever met is faking it ’till they make it.

Now granted, people go to school to specialize in a particular field or craft, so that part of them isn’t faking it.

However, getting the degree is probably less than half the battle. From then on you have to apply, interview, and constantly advocate for yourself. Even extroverts have trouble with advertising themselves. So literally everyone on earth, at one point or another, has faked it ’till they made it.

Before you consider yourself a failure, think about the things at which you are doing well.

Do you have a job? Do you do that job well?

Are you in school? Are you attentive and thoughtful in your schoolwork and projects?

Do you invest time and energy in your friends when they need you?

Are you juggling 5,000 things and somehow not letting the ball drop?

Now if you answered “no” to any of these things, that’s normal…I’d be surprised if you didn’t.

However, if you answered “yes” to any one of these questions, remember that you’re spending a lot of your time in forward motion; you’re learning, connecting, mu;ti-tasking, managing, coordinating…you name it.

Although it may not feel like it, you’re constantly progressing (even if that progress isn’t thoroughly and beautifully documented on Instagram).

And as for not necessarily looking “presentable” all the time…screw that! Although there’s nothing wrong with having a passion for all things cosmetic, there’s also nothing wrong with saving those products for special occasions.

Also, you save about a million dollars and a million hours a week (roughly).

A disorganized room doesn’t necessarily mean a disorganized soul. However, if dirty environments stress you out, I would highly suggest you set aside an hour or two and devote to cleaning your workspace.

I know I can’t work unless my five-foot radius is somewhat organized, so do whatever works for you.

Basically, measure your own success based on your own standards.

You feel lazy? Get off your butt and start pursuing your preferred career.

You feel overwhelmed? Take a well-deserved break.

Your body will communicate most things need to you if you listen. But just because you feel less motivated than your Instagram model counterparts, that doesn’t mean you’re less motivated in reality. You probably still have it all together, and you probably still look like you have it all together to everyone else.

Every woman has her own path, and if yours a little weirder and more crooked, it makes for a far more interesting journey.
