This means the virus is making your body produce thick mucus that is invading your nose canals. Sometimes it may be that your nose is so stuffy you can barely breathe, but also it can generate a lot of sneezing.

Headaches are often not taken seriously but can be a major sign of a cold. At first, it may be a slight headache that eventually begins to worsen. If your head and body start to heat up, it’s best to take your temperature. If you hit a fever greater than 102 degrees Farenheight, it’s best to consult a doctor.

3 Sore Throat

If you start to lose your sense of taste, it may be a sign that you’re coming down with a cold. You may also find yourself coughing a lot more than you usually do, which means your throat is agitated because of the bacterial irritation. Drinking hot fluids like tea or soup can help ease the pain in your throat and can reduce your coughing.

4 Body Aches

Ever wonder why you wake up with your body feeling sore and your muscles aching? There are two possible reasons for that. One, it can be because you spent countless hours at the gym working out. Or two, you’re getting a cold.

The viruses attacking your body can cause your muscles to ache, along with the lack of sleep you’re probably getting, and the lack of exercise you’re doing. For some relief, you can treat body aches and fatigue by drinking plenty of water and getting enough rest.

5 Ear Pain

If you have ear pain, it could mean the infection has traveled to the space behind your eardrum, causing irritation. Earaches can be a major symptom when looking for signs of a cold.
