Entity magazine helps people figure out in what ways its best for individuals to give back to the community based on zodiac sign.

The stars can tell us a lot as they twinkle in the mysterious blackness of the night sky. Perhaps they are who we should look to for ideas on how to make this world a better place for those around us.

Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 18)

As an Aquarius, you’re a bundle of contradictions. You like solitude but when confronted with loneliness, you become unhappy. Talking to people is a strong suit of yours but you’re also rather shy. Because you’re an intellectual, it’s imperative that your mind is engaged in any task you choose to undertake.

There are TONS of local libraries around. But being a librarian is no easy job. People often get degrees in order to do it effectively. But there are plenty of other fun activities to do for the local book stash.

You could help clean up, sub for the librarians or  watch over the little ones. Each library is different and may have programs that they need volunteers to help run. You get to use your mind and you only have to talk occasionally.

Pisces (Feb 19 – Mar 20)

Pisces, our jack-of-all-trades artist here on the zodiac. You have so many talents to share with the world. Since your zodiac sign is particularly inclined to music, there’s a good chance that you might be able to strum a tune. And if not, you have a fondness for music.

This is definitely a long-term project. So before you start this giant undertaking, do some research to see if there’s not already one in your neighborhood. If there is, you could start volunteering there.

But if you choose to undertake the task, then research is a super important first step. You should survey the community to see A. If they want a community garden? B. How they want it structured? C. What they want to grow?

A huge part of the American population lives in areas called food deserts. People in these areas have limited access to fresh and healthy foods. Community gardens can take steps towards alleviating those problems. But you have to make sure to ask the people using the garden what they want to put in it. Different cultures eat different foods. Check out this guide for more tips.

Meals on Wheels is a great program for a Gemini. You get to hit the road, see the town AND meet a bunch of new, cool people. The elderly are a steadily growing group in the United States. People are living longer than ever. Which means that there are a lot more people that could use food assistance.

Not to mention the program is great for budgets as well. One month of nursing home care is equivalent to seven years of meals. It’s often the only human interaction some seniors have. And a more nutritious way for them to gain nourishment.

Court Appointed Special Advocates are involved in court cases in which children need representatives. This relates most often to family disputes like custody, when the court needs an unbiased opinion regarding the welfare of the child. The exact rules and protocols vary depending on the state.

CASAs have long term assignments, and there’s an extensive, 30-hour minimum training. But the monthly commitment per case is usually only 10 hours. This allows you to speak in the best interest of (informed with their opinion optimally) children who are unable to speak for themselves.

And with the majority of children going through a divorce at some point in their childhood, it’s important for caring and fair individuals to be there for them.

Scorpio (Oct 23 – Nov 21)

All you have to do is guide the students through their curriculum as a Facilitator. The commitment shakes out to be around three to four hours a week including travel and prep time. GWC has an admirable mission, “to close the gender gap in technology.”

No excuses! Go out there, do you research and find the cause that’s right for you. Giving back makes the world better for everyone.
