What is (platonic) love? Baby, don't hurt me.
Everyone has a different definition for what platonic love means.
Think for a second, do you have your own definition for what platonic love is? Well, according to the Merriam-Webster this is the definition:
Everyone interprets it in different ways. So, today ENTITY – and the Reddit community – have come to explain what it really means.
“Coach, twice my age or so, said he loved me. Totally not in a romantic way.”
There is nothing more platonic than bro love. When guys tell each other they love one another it doesn’t mean anything more than the fact that they love one another. There is no romantic feelings attached, it’s just love for friends.
“I like doing little random things for people I like. Not “like” in a romantic way.”
It can also be something as simple as doing a kind gesture for someone. Sure, you might not love the person you’re doing the kind gestures for, but you can feel love in the moment that you’re doing it.
“Yes, platonic love and friend love are amazing.”
PLATONIC LOVE IS FRIEND LOVE.
You know how you love your friends, but there is no romantic feelings associated with it? Well that’s exactly what it is. It means to not have romantic feelings.
So, there we have it. Everyone has different definitions of what platonic love means, and how it can be felt. The main difference between platonic love and romantic love is that there are no gushy feelings involved.
